(Post for the week of 28th) Moot Court Competition!

I AM SUPER EXCITED. I am in the mock trial club and i have also joined the moot court class / club. This Thursday, March 22nd, the club / class is going to... WASHINGTON D.C.! We are leaving on Thursday at Noon and we are returning late monday night. I think..not I KNOW I am prepared... I love acting like a lawyer!

Anyways, speaking of this trip, I have to have two cute court outfits! Here is what I am going to wear to look fashionable, while still respecting the laws of the court. I do not like to wear full suits (as in both pieces at once) so here's how I mix it up:

OUTFIT #1=
-I matched

a really cute black blazer that has white pinstripes

with a blouse similar to this one

With platform loafer shoes

and a tight, plain black pencil skirt like this

I tucked the blouse into the pencil skirt, and put the jacket on top. Add accessories that match the blouse.

OUTFIT #2:
-I put together:

A tan blazer from New York and Company,
a long black pencil skirt,
and a pair of nude pointed-toed heels.

This was my outfit , I'm in the middle. haha yup.

The Kardashian Collection at Sears

This past week I went to Sears for one purpose, to check out the Kardashian collection. I expected it to be super cute, but I had no idea that I would love it so much! The clothes look exactly like something they would wear. Each and every item was SO fashionable and unique in its own way.
Here are some of the cute items:

Went I went, I took over 12 items into the dressing room to try on. They ALL were amazing pieces and super sheik. However, they aren't cheap. The average price for the clothes are about 60 dollars! Due to the expensive cost, I narrowed it down to two pieces. The two pieces I bought were a Cheetah Blazer and a light pink bubble skirt.

The pink bubble (Click here for link) skirt is described as "Posh petals shimmer with modern-day glamour from this Kardashian Kollection skirt. Paired with the matching petal shoulder tee, sold separately, this fully-lined skirt is an instant style maker."  I absolutely love it. It is so unique!

The second piece is a Cheetah Jacket. I am SO happy with this blazer. It is so versatile. You can dress it up and you can dress it down. AH. Here is a picture of it:

Styling a Uniform!

This is Marion. She is visiting our school from Germany for the past couple months. She usually has really amazing style!

Before, her uniform looks plain and boring with her hair up in a crazy bun.

After, she untucked her undershirt- creating a pop of color, and she took down her hair and put it to the side, making it look very edgy.

Styling up uniforms!

Here is my weekly styling up uniforms!

This is Sarah!

Before; she had a shirt peaking out of her hoodie, her skirt unzipped and down to her knees, and her boots' flaps were popped out. Additionally, her hair was up in some sort of crazy bun.

After; we tucked the shirt in, put her beautiful, long hair dow, pulled up her skirt a bit, and folded her boots- showing the fur. She now looks super cute and put together!

SPRING IS HERE!

Spring has arrived! Do you know what that means? SPRING FASHION! Spring 2012 fashion has been all about adapting styles from the past, and making them newer and more... 2012!

Here is a cool video of top 5 Spring 2012 trends!

#1: Romantic Silhouettes =
This Spring the runway was BIG on drap-y, chiffon fabrics; anywhere from dresses to shirts and even skirts. The colors with the chiffons are usually romantic light pinkish colors.

#2: Retro =
Retro and 80's futuristic styles are VERY in right now. Their structured silhouettes are so big now, and so are the bold colors they're paired with.

#3: Prints =
Anywhere from Animal prints to tribal bold prints are everywhere. The crazy thing is, this fashion season, fashionistas encourage mixing the prints! It is so cool. They would mix dots with tribal prints, for example.

#4: Leather =
Forget people who say leather is only for winter! It is so big right now. You can pair your heavy leather jacket with a floral dress to make it spring appropriate! Also, leather skirts and leggings are cool to mix up an outfit.

#5: Colors =
BOLD BOLD BOLD. Everything is color this season, especially neons! Also color blocking is BACK. That means matching bold colors together.

Purim Costume Ideas!

March 7 and 8th is  Purim!

Purim is the Jewish holiday that commemorates the saving of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction by a plot by Haman, a story recorded in the Biblical Book of Esther (Megillat Esther). According to the Book of EstherHaman, royal vizier to King Ahasuerus planned to kill the Jews, but his plans were foiled by Mordecai and Queen Esther. The day of deliverance became a day of feasting and rejoicing. Additionally, it is celebrated by throwing parties and dressing up in costumes to be happy.
Do you need some creative ideas of what to dress up as?
Woman Costume ideas:

#1: Princess!

if you can't find anything to wear, but need a last minute costume, be a princess! Take anyone of your fancier dresses (maybe from Prom) and match a princess to it.
For example,
you have a blue dress like this?

Then add a tiara, high heels, curl your hair and put it in a bun. You are now CINDERELLA!

#2 Cat:

Dress up in all black, make a tail, and add ears.

Also, to complete the look, add black on your nose using eyeliner, and also draw whiskers.

#3 Fortune Teller Costume

Outfit:

Wear a pouffy skirt
and a loose fitted shirt with a scarf draped around you.

Hair:

Crimp your hair to make it really big and put a scarf or some sort of fabric on top.

Jewlery:

Add a lot of gold jewelry everywhere.

#4 80s Girl

Wear BOLD BRIGHT COLORs such as neons. Add leg warmers and tights.

Tease your hair so it is really big.

Add a lot of bright colored eyeshadow.

#5 Cowgirl or Farmer

Wear a plaid shirt , with either jeans or a mini jean skirt. Also add a straw hat and brown boots.

Styling up a uniform: GUY EDITION

Today, I decided to style up my friend Nick's uniform.

Before:

He had his shirt tucked into his pants which were extremely high. Also, his pants were folded up on the bottom with white socks peaking out. Honestly, he reminded me of the character urkel from Family Matters:
After:

He un-folded his pants, un-tucked his shirt, and added a jacket zipped up half-way. Also, he unbuttoned his shirt.

The uniform went from nerd-ish, Urkel looking to a very fashionable outfit- (even for out of school)!

Modeling Show!

There is a show on the CW that I have been watching recently called Remodeled.
Remodeled is a series that follows a huge president of a modeling company (Paul Fisher) who goes around and transforms modeling agencies. At the same time, the show also reveals young models doing photo shoots and various other modeling activities.
I don't think there has been any new episodes lately, but there are a few reruns on the CW Website where you can watched full episodes!

Oscar Fashion 2012

On Sunday February 26th was the 2012 Academy Awards. That night is one of the biggest nights in the fashion world.
There were many fashion 'hits' and 'misses'.

The BEST of the night:

Gwyneth Paltrow

Everyone was talking about Gwyneth Paltrow's caped Tom Ford gown. This fall and spring capes are very in, but it was very bold of her to wear it on the red carpet, during the Oscars! Personally, I think she 100% pulled the look off very well. She did not go overboard with the hair and accessories too; a simple diamond cuff and low ponytail.
Her red carpet moment in this white gown will be remembered for awhile.

Jennifer Lopez

This neutral Zuhair Murad look is ultra-glam. Its sequins and stripes work with J-Lo's hair style and simple jewlery.
However, she was not playing it safe with a huge plunging V-neck which came with much controversy.

Jessica Chastain

The Help star looked amazing on the red carpet. Everything just worked! Her hair was done right with the proper amount of jewlery so it did not clash with the bold gold gown from Alexander McQueen. The intricate copper embroidery against the black fabric, the delicate earrings and the long loose curls—it's all so perfect!

Rose Byrne

The actress told E!'s Ryan Seacrest that this slinky sequin midnight-blue Vivienne Westwood one-shoulder gown was "the first thing [she] tried on," and she went with it.
Her sassy bob did not clash with the bold dress and it works perfect.
Her earings are Chanel and Byrne's shoes are  Jimmy Choo platform stilettos.

The WORST of the night:

Angelina Jolie

Jolie looks absolutely gorgeous in this Atelier Versace gown with Neil Lane jewels!
HOWEVER, Chicken leg alert! Her odd pose the whole night ruined her whole outfit. It may sound ridiculous, but this crazy pose ruined her 'get-up'.

Meryl Streep
Streep looked like she was drowning in her gold Lanvin dress. Also, the exaggerated shoulders would be perfect in the 80s, however for the 2012 Oscars it dated her look even more.

Bérénice Bejo                                                 Bejo's outfit is not right for the occasion. The  sequined mint color gown and too-tight of hair does not work for the oscars.
