While it wasn't exactly an Angelina Jolie leg flash, Kate Middleton showed some royal thigh last night when she stepped out with Prince William in London.
Attending a private dinner at the Thirty Club, the duchess dazzled in a cream colored Roland Mouret gown which exposed a daring amount of leg. The top of was more modest — it featured a high neck and long sleeves. The dress, which is her raciest look since she came into the public eye, hugged the curves of her slender frame.
While Middleton's style has been largely praised throughout her first year as an official member of the royal family, there has been some criticism over her shoe choices with famed luxury footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood saying, "You're meant to be a princess-y type of person, so act like one!'" But last night her shoe selection was major — she opted for a pair of mile-high silver Jimmy Choo sandals that just made her legs look endless.
Middleton's look was completed with a striped silver clutch and drop earrings that stood out nestled within her long, straight hair.
This was certainly an unforgettable look that we haven't seen before coming from the woman who has been known to recycle some of her favorite fashions — or even borrow outfits from her mother. Some of Middleton's favorite things to rewear include dresses, jackets, and a favorite pair of black suede boots. When visiting Canada and the United States last year, she wore a pair of nude L. K. Bennett pumps over and over.
Rachel Zoe has weighed in on Middleton opting to repeat some of her favorite looks. "I love that about her," the celebrity stylist told "Good Morning America." "I think that just makes her so much more human and approachable … I think that's great." And Middleton's demeanor adds to her overall look. "She's always smiling. She carries herself with such grace and elegance. And she's royalty," Zoe said. "I think that for everybody out there right now, especially for the young people, it's like, she seems like this girl that you want to go sit down with and talk to and hang out with. And I think that her style just reflects a lot about who she is."

The Duchess of Cambridge has impressed most of the world with her charm and style, but shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood has slammed Kate Middleton's taste in shoes.
Kirkwood, who is a favoured designer for the likes of Beyonce and shoe-hound Sarah Jessica Parker, thinks that Kate is playing the high street card too much and could do much better, especially as she's royalty.
In an interview with the Daily Beast, he said: "She just wears too much high street stuff. I know she’s trying to be democratic, but I don’t know how many pairs of LK Bennett you can wear."
But, Kirkwood admits that he's kept an eye on Kate and her shoes - and is pleased when she steps out in high-end designers' creations.
"She does occasionally come out and is wearing McQueen or something like that. It’s like, 'Do that more! You’re meant to be a princess-y type of person, so act like one!'"
Well, as we've previously reported Kate's style has definitely boosted the British economy with her favoured store L.K. Bennett reporting an significant 17% rise in profit.
"She has accelerated sales for us — when she does wear something, it always seems to go on a waiting list," said the store's US president Tony DiMasso.
